"Ik wil mijn kunst zo zuiver mogelijk houden: eenvoud, essentie en stilte" - Ward Dijck
The sculptures of Ward Dijck want to preserve the beauty of the naked material as much as possible. The stones bear the traces, the hurts, of the exploitation. The drilling slots and the fracture lines with their sharp 'croûte' are integrated into the composition of the sculpture. The sculptor saws, cuts and grinds, but tries to preserve the primary forms.
